About The B&B

Barangay is a Filipino word meaning small village or community.

Our tropical decorated guest- house with two luxury rooms and fully equipped kitchen, is located in a typical Amsterdam canal house erected in the 18th century. Our first guests were greeted on the 8th of August 1999. After running the B&B more than 18 years at Droogbak, we moved to our new Mansion at Herenstraat in June 2018.

Each guest get a warm welcome. A unique home away from home with a twist, your very own original room with an Asian touch. Through the years, Barangay has been showered with multiple Awards & Recognitions.

We are humbled by many of excellent guest reviews.

The Location

The B&B is located in the canal area of the city centre within the Unesco World Heritage Site. Definitely one of the best areas to explore Amsterdam and beyond. Literally, most tourist attractions are just around the corner, within walking distance!

Herenstraat and Prinsenstraat together form The Royal Streets, a special shopping area consisting of two streets that are an extension of each other, connecting 3 major canals (Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht), on the west side of the city, close to the Jordaan area and the Anne Frank house.

The 400-year-old shopping streets offer exclusive specialty shops, trendy boutiques, vintage shops and various restaurants and bars. The historic buildings give Royal Streets an authentic atmosphere, while the shops give the shopping area a hip feel.

Walking distances:

  • 1 min: Shops and restaurants
  • 3 min: Jordaan Area
  • 8 min: Anne Frank house
  • 8 min: Canal Tours
  • 10 min: Dam square
  • 12 min: Central Station
  • 12 min: Red light district
  • 30 min: Museum Square
